Dr. Vishvanath C. Karande, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Dr. Karande is the President, Medical Director, and Director of the IVF Program. After completing his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of New York at Buffalo, NY, he did a Fellowship in the sub-specialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the prestigious Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.
Dr. Karande is Board Certified in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the subspecialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
In addition to the above credentials, as Director of the IVF Program, Dr. Karande has been involved in thousands of IVF cycles with pregnancy rates comparable to the best programs nationwide. His major interest is in the reduction of high-order multiple pregnancies which is the biggest problem facing the specialty. This is being successfully accomplished by limiting the number of embryos being transferred to two in younger patients without compromising pregnancy rates.
He is also an accomplished laparoscopic surgeon and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Gynecological Endoscopy.
Dr. Karande has published extensively in several peer reviewed Journals. His research interests include improving pregnancy in patients with diminished ovarian reserve, embryo transfer technique, and tubal catheterization for treating blocked fallopian tubes.
